The E-Discharge Software Application
The Bluewire E-Discharge solution is a web based clinical information management system which is configurable to just support a fairly rapid deployment for discharge summaries if this is your priority – but if you think a solution may also be needed for the medium or longer term, it can also address other areas of the service such as tasks, lab results, hand-over-lists, clinical coding etc. The application is designed from the clinician's viewpoint, with its intuitive design understanding the needs of doctors and nurses and how they think. The application enables doctors and other frontline healthcare professionals read and write access to full patient records, treatments and lab reports at the point of care, or from anywhere else with an appropriate web connection.
The solution features innovative technology which makes it an extremely cost effective and powerful solution, even for smaller medical organisations. The application includes the management of medication using DM+D or the Multilex drug dictionary from First Databank along with support for the administration of drugs requested, through to pharmacy and tracking back to ward for discharge. The summary template can be designed locally and has integration with Microsoft word. In addition, the discharge summary can be transmitted to GP’s via NHS mail, Sunquest (ex Anglia) or PCTI transport mechanisms. Read more...
Implementation and Support Services
Bluewire recognise that not every Trust's processes, policies, workflows and procedures are the same, and unless the system can be configured to meet these differences, clinicians are unlikely to use technology or gain benefit from its use. Understanding the software and the service and having the ability to constructively apply this knowledge is absolutely key to winning the hearts and minds of clinicians and healthcare professionals. With the Trust project manager working alongside a PRINCE qualified project manager from Bluewire/SRC, consultancy and technical services will work with Trust leads from clinical, pharmacy, IT and information areas of the service. This will ensure all parties understand the project plan and timetable and allow for the precise configuration of the application software to meet the Trusts workflow and processes. In support, the Bluewire development team, responsible for interfacing to existing hospital systems and technical issues such as GP transport technology, will work with qualified software trainers who provide education and training in all elements of the system.
Once the system has been fully tested and moved into a live environment, Bluewire/SRC will then provide ongoing system support which can delivered to meet the Trusts requirements up-to a 24 hour / 7 day agreement. In addition the software is continually enhanced to meet all NHS mandated Data Set Change Notices and changes as a result of user/customer feedback.
